Miraculous & Marian Medals

The Miraculous Medal was designed in the 19^th Century by Sister Catherine, now Saint Catherine Labouré, after being directed to do so during a mystical vision with Mary. During the Apparition, Mary told Catherine “Have a medal struck upon this model. Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around their neck.” The first medals were made in 1832 and distributed throughout Paris.

Today, the original medal can be found at the shrine in Germantown in Paris.
